Educator, workshop facilitator, and community builder, with a strong knowledge base in adult learning, childhood education, and child development.
I have eight years of classroom teaching experience in New York City public schools, and six years of experience facilitating parent engagement workshops and parent volunteer trainings.
My formal education includes a MS in Education, Early Childhood & Elementary Education from Bank Street College of Education and a MS, Urban Policy Analysis & Management from The New School. In 2004, I earned permanent teaching certification from the New York State Education Department.
Some institutions that have benefited from my expertise include Learning Leaders (formerly, the New York City School Volunteer Program) where I worked to equip families of PreK through 9th grade students with information and strategies to help their students succeed academically.
Elite Learners, Inc. is another nonprofit organization that I worked with in an administrative and course facilitator capacity to collaborate with over 30 principals and their designated staff to listen to and understand their program needs and develop solutions to strengthen their student enrichment activities.
My aim is for workshop participants to leave feeling bold and powerful -- like the qualities of spice!
Elementary School Family Workshops engage families of Pre-K-5th grade students with tools and to foster their children’s educational development.
